Trans People of Colour Anthology

The Trans People of Colour Anthology project aims to put the Trans Learning Project’s findings from research into action by creating space for trans people of colour to dream and create new narratives.

About the project

Narratives about Trans People of Colour are often negative, and not written by Trans People of Colour (TPOC) .

It is important to make space for stories created by and for Trans People of Colour , and to amplify Trans People of Colour’s voices.

Through a series of three workshops running in 2026, eight aspiring trans writers of colour will be supported to write a chapter for the anthology.

History

The Trans People of Colour Anthology grew from our Levelling the Field research project.

The anthology seeks to meet and further explore three of the main needs Levelling the Field identified.

  1. The need to be seen in full, as a diverse group.
  2. The need to create new narratives and dream again.
  3. The need for rest, creativity, connection, and play.

Who is Involved

The project is led by Jackson King.

The anthology will be published pro-bono by Jessica Kingsley Publishing

The Project is funded by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation
