Partners & Governance

Partner Organisations

The Trans Learning Partnership is made up of four Partner Organisations, all of whom deliver trans specific services.

The four partner organisations are: Spectra, Gendered Intelligence, Mermaids and the LGBT Foundation.

Spectra CIC  is the TLP’s Lead Partner. They deliver inclusive sexual health and wellbeing services in London, including providing a Trans Health Advocacy Service, Trans Counselling, Mentoring and Social Groups.

Mermaids supports transgender, non-binary and gender-diverse children and young people, as well as their families and professionals involved in their care.

LGBT Foundation are a national charity with LGBTQ+ health and wellbeing at the heart of everything they do.

Gendered Intelligence is a trans-led and trans-involving charity that works to increase understandings of gender diversity and improve the lives of trans people.

Our Governance

The Trans Learning Partnership (TLP) has robust governance structures that emphasise the importance of our work being led by trans communities.

A drawing of three trans people work on a plan together. One participant is wearing a hijab in the colours of the trans flag, their dress is blue and they are holding a pen. Another participant has short brown hair, is using a wheelchair and wearing a green shirt, they are looking at the plan on the floor. A third participant is drawing on a blue piece of paper on the floor. They have dyed red hair, and are wearing a black top and blue jeans.
  • TLP Steering Group – The group contained 4 organisational representatives of our partner agencies, 5 trans and/or non-binary community representatives (one seat of which was reserved for a trans person of colour), and an academic partner from Goldsmith (University of London).  This group guides the workplans and delivery of the TLP.

  • TLP Advisory Group – The group  gives guidance and advice on research focuses and project design. The group is composed entirely of trans people, who meet to provide input on the direction and activity of the TLP. Each member holds a specific roles or specialism within the group e.g. one role is focused on Housing, while another is focused on Design & Communications.

  • TLP TPOC Advisory Group – a group of six trans people of colour with diverse backgrounds and life experiences. The main purpose of the group will be to provide support, guidance, and scrutiny to the work of the TPoC project coordinator, whilst championing the needs of non-binary and trans people of colour.
